  MRS. JOHN HAWKES
  
    Mrs. Pearl Virgie Hawkes, 83, of Mt. Savage, Md., died Feb. 19, 1974 in
  Frostburg Community Hospital.  A native of Palo Alto, she was a daughter of
  the late James and Emma (Fichtner) Wilhelm, and was the widow of John Hawkes.
    Mrs. Hawkes was a member of Mt. Savage United Methodist Church and
  Rebekah Arnold Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.
    Surviving are three nieces, Mrs. Emma Myers, Westminster, Md.; Mrs. Irma
  Leese, Frostburg; and Miss Betty Rizer, Mt. Savage.
    Funeral service was conducted Friday morning in Zeigler Funeral Home,
  Hyndman, with Rev. Edward Heydt officiating.  Interment in Palo Alto
  Cemetery.
