  Carl P. Hay, 74, of Somerset Towers died Feb. 20, 1978, at his residence. 
  Born Oct. 19, 1903, in Meyersdale, a son of William and Mary (Cox) Hay. 
  Survived by his wife, the former June Putman; one son, Lloyd C. of
  Alexandria, Va.; one grandson, Carl Bernard; and these brothers and
  sisters: Marie Nevitt of Louisville, Ky.; John and William, both of
  Meyersdale; James of Jerome; Robert of Detroit, Mich.; Leona Bowman of
  Palmyra, Pa.; and Helen Wagner of Stoystown RD 2.  A retired coal miner,
  former resident of Meyersdale, where he served as president and a member of
  the town council for 12 years; member of the Home Aid of Meyersdale
  Legion.  Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Robert H.
  Halverson Funeral Home where service will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m.
  with Dr. William Lawrence officiating.  Interment, Union Cemetery in
  Meyersdale.
