She was born July 11, 1919, in Geraldine, Mont., daughter of Amund and Harriett (Clay) Grandahl. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. She is survived by her husband, John Edward Hay, and these children: Mrs. Keith (Kathy) Grimm of Fort Hill, Md.; Larry Jon, Dennis G., and Mrs. Raymond (Mayla) Dickey, all of Berlin; seven grandchildren. Also two sisters, Mrs. Burl (Mina) Brown, Kennewick, Wash.; and Mrs. Malcolm (Lois) Storoe of Joseph, Ore. Her death terminates a marriage union of 35 years. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin, and member of the choir. She was a member and past president of Plus Spring Women's Club, also past president and member of the First Society of Farm Women. Former member of Berlin Lady Rebekah Lodge, she was a member of Sons of Norway, Somerset Historical Society, member and past president of the Women's Auxiliary of the Pennsylvania Assn. Of Mutual Insurance Company of Berlin as the assistant treasurer. Friends were received at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin. Services were held at Mt. Zion (Hay's) United Church of Christ with the Rev. Charles W. Sigler officiating. Interment, Hay's Church Cemetery. The Republic, March 4, 1982 [H0521]
