Allen Hay, died Sunday morning at her home, Berlin R.D. 3. She had been an invalid for near ten years and was tenderly cared for by her children, while making her home with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hay. She was the only daughter of Uriah and Adeline Lichty Bauman, and was born Dec. 30, 1862, and was 84 years, 7 months and 17 days of age at the time of her passing. She was a native of Somerset County where she lived a useful Christian life. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. M. S. Berkley, Cumberland; Mrs. Irma Lane, Berlin; Ralph Hay, Berlin, R.D. 3, and Merle Hay, Meyersdale. One daughter, Clara, preceded her in death. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was a member of Hays Reformed Church. Funeral services were held at the Johnson Funeral Home Tuesday, August 19, at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. F. D. Witmer officiating. Interment in the Hays Church cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, August 21, 1947
