Ellis Hay, died at her home in Chicago, Ill., Nov. 15. She was born in 1874, the daughter of Joseph and Lucinda Engle Walker. She had been ill for five weeks. Her husband died three years ago. Surviving are these children: Mrs. Clarence Straupe, Mrs. Ben Sites and Mrs. R. G. Shultz, all of Chicago, and a son, Ellis Walker Hay of St. Louis, Mo.; also seven grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Barron Shipley of Youngstown, Ohio, and two brothers, Dr. Lewis Walker of Clarksburg, W.Va., and Guy H. Walker of Berlin R. D. She was a member of the Reformed church. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Benjamin Hay officiating assisted by Rev. F. D. Witmer. Interment in the Hays' Church cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, November 22, 1946
