Born June 14, 1894 in Baer (sic) Run, Pa. A daughter of the late Levi E. and Jennie Friend Tissue. A member of the Baer (sic) Run Church of the Brethren and a member of the Mountain Top Senior Citizens Club. A former school teacher of Stewart Township. Surviving are four sons: Wade G. Hay, of Bowie, Md.; Ray M., of Somerset, Pa.; W. Dale, of Annandale Va.; and Ralph E., of Mill Run, Pa. Two daughters, Mrs. James Verla Green of College Park, Md. and Mrs. Dorothy Dull of Corapolis Pa. Nineteen grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. Five half-sisters: Mrs. Nina Skinner, Mrs. Gladys Johnson and Wilma Peters all of Cleveland Ohio; Mrs. Hilda Bryner of Dunbar Pa.; and Mrs. Madeline VanNosdlen of Mill Run Pa. Preceded in death by husband Lloyd M. Hay in 1987. A great granddaughter Amy Marie Milsap. Two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Joy and Mrs. Bessie Skinner. Four brothers: Filbert, Clyde, Ralph and William Tissue and a half-brother, Leland Tissue. Friends will be received at the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home Inc. on Route 711 Melcroft, Pa. from 2 to 9 p.m. today and until Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. when services will be held. Rev. James Show, Rev. Alvin Diamond Jr. and Rev. Stephen D. Hay, her grandson, officiating. Interment will be in Indian Creek Baptist Cemetery. Daily American, August 14, 1989 [H0539]
