HERMAN L. HAY

  Herman L. Hay, 86, one of Rockwood's highly respected citizens, died at his 
home Thursday, Jan. 21.  He was born in Jefferson Township and lived in Rockwood 
42 years.  His wife, Dora McNell Hay, died twelve years ago.
  Mr. Hay was a consistent member of the United Brethren Church of Rockwood and 
a charter member of the Rockwood grange.  He is survived by the following 
children: Mrs. W. E. Parks, Rockwood; H. O. Hay and Mrs. J. B. Speicher, Des 
Moines, Iowa; Reid M. Hay, Baltimore, Maryland; also ten grandchildren and nine 
great-grandchildren.
  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the United Brethren Church 
where the body remained from 12 noon until the hour of funeral.  The Rev. J. C. 
Moses, pastor, conducted the service.  Burial in the Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery 
under the direction of Mills and Mickey, morticians.
