  JAMES O. HAY
  
    James O. Hay, 76, of 320 Somerset Ave., Jerome, died March 22, 1978, at
  Memorial Hospital, Johnstown.  Born Oct. 13, 1901, in Meyersdale, he was a
  son of William and Mary (Cox) Hay.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Carl.
    He is survived by his widow, the former Mary Stickley; two daughters:
  Patsy, wife of John Shaffer, Jerome, and Linda, wife of Roger McGinley,
  Melcroft; step-son, Albert Menhorn, married to former Mariene Farner,
  Meyersdale; four grandchildren; John and Bruce Shaffer, Brian and Shawna
  McGinley.
    He was a brother of: Mrs. Marie Nevitt, Louisville, Ky.; John,
  Meyersdale; Robert, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Helen Wagner-Weaver, Buckstown,
  Stoystown RD; Mrs. Leona Bowman, Hershey; and William, Meyersdale.
    He was a member of Jerome Lutheran Church, where he formerly served on
  the church council, and was also a member of UMWA, Johnstown Local No. 1040.
    Services were held Saturday at the Joseph G. Hoffman Funeral Home with
  the Rev. George A. Clark officiating.  Interment, Maple Springs Cemetery.
