Hay, 95, of Patriot Manor Somerset, formerly of Rockwood, died Sept. 13, 1997 at the manor. Born Nov. 15, 1901 in Somerset Township. Son of the late W.J.R. and Nellie (Mason) Hay. Preceded in death by an infant daughter; brothers, Warren, Jennings, Oscar and George Hay, and sisters, Anna Berkley, Nellie Coleman and Susan Weimer. Survived by his wife of 75 years, the former Hazel Speicher and these children: James B. Hay, married to the former Norma June Hart of Ankeny, Iowa; Dean S. Hay, married to the former Agnes Svonavec, Rockwood RD 3; Morris W. Hay married to the former Marcella Powell, Marion, Iowa; Mrs. Ray (Lillian) Kaufman, Chambersburg, and Mrs. Harold (Rose Marie) Keichel, Wickliffe, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Brother of Etta Stahl of Somerset RD 3. Member of the Rockwood United Church of Christ where he served on the consistory. Retired Milford Township farmer. Also retired from the A.D. Graham Co. in Somerset. Original member of the board of directors of the Somerset REA. Former member of Rockwood Borough Council at the time when the flood control project was constructed. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, Rockwood, where funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Mark Bender officiating.
