Hay, 59, West Race Street, Somerset, died Aug. 27, 1987, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born July 26, 1928, in Somerset Township, a son of Ester (Mort) Hay and the late Orlo Hay. Preceded in death by his father; his wife, Gloria (Henry) Hay; and one sister, Dorothy Auremma. Survived by his mother, Ester Hay, Somerset; and these children: Kathy Jane Hay, Washington, Pa.; William Hartge, Somerset; Jay D. Jr., Stoystown; Katherine Koontz, Somerset; Donna Hay, Stoystown; Susan Platt, Berlin; and Diana Hemminger, Jerome; seven grandchildren and these brothers and sisters: the Rev. William Hay, Friedens RD 1; Mary Schlag, Monks Corner, S.C.; John, Mt. Pleasant; Betty Setinsek, North Lima, Ohio; Orlo J., Robert, Richard and Charles, all of Berlin; James, Rockwood; and Ralph, Somerset. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where service will be conducted Sunday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. A.C.
