Hay, 84, of Meyersdale RD 4, died Jan. 4, 1984, at Meyersdale Community Hospital. He was born Nov. 1, 1899, in Meyersdale, a son of the late William and Mary Ann (Cox) Hay. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Jones) Hay, in 1938. He is survived by his widow, Opal (Williams) Hay and these children: John R., Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and Mrs. Mary Lee Shultz, Meyersdale RD 4; and two grandchildren. He was a brother of: William B., Meyersdale; Mrs. Leona Bowman, Palmyra, Ohio; and Mrs. Marie Nevitt and Mrs. Helen Weaver, both of Louisville, Ky. He formerly operated the Meyersdale Dry Cleaning Company. He was a member of Amity United Church of Christ; member of the Meyersdale Masonic Lodge 554, and Hebron Royal Arch Chapter 272, Harrisburg Consistory. Friends were received in the Leckemby Funeral Home, where services were held with the Rev. Carl P. Mitchell Officiating. Interment, Union Cemetery. Meyersdale Masonic Lodge conducted services Friday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Meyersdale Republic, January 12, 1984 [H0556]
