Hay, 65, of Markleton, went home to be with the Lord, Sept. 24, 2001, at the Meyersdale Medical Center. Born Nov. 11, 1935, in Black Township, son of Ruby Hay of Garrett RD, and the late Ray Hay. Also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Pletcher, son-in-law Robert Carlson, and an infant grandson. Survived by his wife of 46 years, the former Erma J. Pletcher, and the following children: Albert and wife Pam Woods, Eileen and husband Robert Younkin, and Julie Carlson, all of Markleton; grandchildren: Bobby, Daniel, John Allen, Andrea, Alissa, Krystle and Hollie; and a great-grandson, Brandon Younkin. Brother of Donald of Maryland; Merle, Leo and Jeff, all of Rockwood; Roger, Edna Stairs, Donna Barron, all of Somerset; Dean and Dale of Markleton; Darlene Swet of Illinois; Kathy Rhoads of Stoystown; and numerous nieces and nephews. A 33-year member of Old Bethel Church of God. A truck driver for many years and was last employed by PennDOT, retiring in March of 2001. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday (today), at Miller Funeral Home, Rockwood. Funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Old Bethel Church. Dr. Douglas Baker, Rev.
