Hay, 74, Berlin RD 3, died Oct. 4, 1987, at Somerset Community Hospital. Born July 1, 1913, in Unionville (Centre County) daughter of Clair W. and Laura (Calhoun) Burd. Preceded in death by parents and sister, Kay Guy. Survived by her husband, Donald W., and two daughters: Mrs. Guy R. (Marilyn) Benning, Charleroi; and Mrs. James (Donna) Raupach, Abilene, Texas; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; also a sister, Miss Myra Burd, Berlin. Graduate of Lock Haven State University, taught in the Berlin schools before retiring in 1975, served as matron at Somerset County Jail during husband's term as sheriff of Somerset County. Member of Mt. Zion (Hays) United Church of Christ. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev.
