He was born in Brothersvalley township December 16, 1869, the son of the late Henry and Lydia Cober Hay. His wife, Mrs. Martha Berkley Hay, survives with the following children: Royden Hay, Meyersdale; Mrs. Howard Werner, Berlin; also seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Harvey G. Hay of Berlin and Horace Hay of Washington, D.C. and a sister, Miss Myra Hay of Silver Spring, Md., survive. Mr. Hay was a prominent farmer of Brothersvalley township. He was an active member of Hays, Mt. Zion Reformed Church. Funeral services were held in the Johnson and Son Funeral Home this Thursday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. D.S. Stephen officiating.
