Hay, 79, Rockwood, died Oct. 23, 1976 in Somerset Community Hospital. He was born May 12, 1897, in Black Township, a son of Jacob and Anna Showman Hay. He is survived by his wife, Esther Mort Hay of Rockwood and these sons: Rev. William Hay, Friedens RD 1; Jay D. of Stoystown RD 2; John H. of Mount Pleasant; Ralph of Rockwood; Charles of Somerset RD 5; Orlo Jr. of Berlin; Robert S. of Bricktown, N.J.; Richard L of Berlin; and James of Lavansville; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Sechlag of Wheeling, W. Va. and Mrs. Tony Setinseck of North Lima, Ohio; two half-brothers: Eugene and Emery, both of Friedens; one half-sister, Mrs. Minnie Bazzar of Champion, Pa., one half-sister; Mrs. Jemima Yoder of Friedens, 43 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Aurumma, in 1970. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Somerset VFW; the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Berlin and a retired coal miner. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the William J. Wood Funeral Home, Rockwood, with Clifford Wicks officiating. Interment, Beachdale Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, October 28, 1976 [H0595]
