Hay, 80, of Somerset, formerly of Bowie, Md., where he resided for 54 years, died Nov. 16, 1999, at Windber Hospice. Born March 14, 1919, in Bear Run, Fayette County, son of Lloyd and Goldie (Tissue) Hay. Preceded in death by parents, granddaughter, Amy Millsap, son-in-law, Robert Miernicki, and brother Ray Hay. Survived by wife, Helen (Eaton) Hay; daughters, Mrs. Carole Miernicki of Nazareth, Mrs. James (Kathy) Drummond of Burgettstown, Mrs. Leonard (Marilyn) Whitehead of Glenwood, Md., and Mrs. Curtis (Linda) Millsap of Bowie, Md.; and a son, Douglas Hay of Latrobe. Also 9 grandchildren. Brother of Mrs. Verla Green, Mrs. Dorothy Dull, Dale Hay of Annandale, Va., and Ralph Hay of Bear Run. He was a member of Bear Run Church of the Brethren until he moved to Bowie, where he became a member of University Park Church of the Brethren in Hyattsville, Md. A U.S. Army Veteran of WW II, he was a member of Naval Lodge #4 of the F&AM of the District of Columbia. Friends will be received from 2-9 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. A service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday at the Somerset Church of the Brethren. Revs. Dorothy Steele, Kim McDowell and Stephen Hay officiating. Family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service. Interment, Indian Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Mill Run.
