Hay, 77, of Berlin, died suddenly Feb. 1, in Somerset. Born Jan. 22, 1887, in Brothersvalley Twp., he was the son of Hiram and Ida Walker Hay. He is survived by his wife, Anna, and two children: Mrs. Dorothy Suder of Berlin and Paul of Berlin, RD 2; one sister, Mrs. Guy Walker of Berlin, RD 2; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was a prominent farmer and livestock dealer in the area. Mr. Hay was also a director of the Philson National Bank in Berlin and a past president of the institution. He was a past president and director of the Farmer's Union Mutual Fire Insurance Co., a charter member of the Berlin Lions Club, a charter member of Hillcrest Grange and a member of the Berlin IOOF Lodge. He was also a member of Hay's United Church of Christ and a graduate of Cambria Business School. Friends are being received at the Johnson and Son Funeral Home in Berlin, where services will be conducted Monday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Richard H. Shellenberger officiating.
