He was the youngest son of the late Benjamin G. and Harriet Glessner Hay, and was born in Brothersvalley Township, July 7, 1879. His wife, Mrs. Ada (Herwig) Hay, died three years ago. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. W. H. B. Carney, Staten Island, New York, wife of Rev. Mr. Carney, a former minister in Somerset County, a brother, Rev. Benjamin Hay of Front Royal, Va. Also a foster daughter, Mrs. Grover Wallace, with whom he lived. Mr. Hay was a farmer, and an active member of Hay's Reformed Church, where funeral services were held Sunday, at 2:30 p.m. Rev. F. D. Witmer officiating. Interment in Hay's Church Cemetery, under direction of Johnson & Son, Berlin morticians. Meyersdale Republican, December 18, 1947
