Hayman, 70, of Somerset RD 1, died June 13, in Johnstown Memorial Hospital. He was born Sept. 14, 19902, in Hyndman, a son of Harry and Ora Shaffer Hayman. Surving are a son, Robert W. Hayman, Rockwood; four daughters, Mrs. Thelma Ankeny, Somerset RD 1; Mrs. Neva Burkett, both of Somerset RD 1; Mrs. Mary Alice Weir, Somerset RD 5, and Mrs. Gloria Burkhart, Johnstown. Also surviving are a brother, William Hayman, Baltimore; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Otto, Johnstown, and Mrs. Sadie Putman, Rockwood, RD 3, 19 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Baker Hayman and a son, George L. Hayman, Jr. Mr. Hayman was a member of the Brotherhood of Trainmen, Somerset Eagles, and the United Methodist Church of Christ of Rockwood. Services were conducted June 16 in the William J. Wood Funeral Home, the Rev. Daniel Enterline officiating. Interment was in the Rockwood IOOF Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, June 21, 1972 [H0640]
