Born June 6, 1918, in New Germany, Md., daughter of the late Joseph and Eliza (Broadwater) Bittinger. Preceded in death by two husbands, Herman R. Wilhelm, who died in 1984, and Robert Charles Hebner, who died in 1986. A Protestant by faith and a homemaker, she is survived by five daughters: Shirley E. Bittinger of Swanton, Linda Warnick of Cumberland, Catherine Carney and Edith Nair, both of LaVale, and Dorothy Kerns of Ridgeley, W.Va.; a stepdaughter, LuAnn Adams of LaVale; six sons: Edison Wilhelm of Millerville, Md., James Wilhelm of Ridgeley, Paul Wilhelm of Swanton, Gary Wilhelm of Berlin, Pa.; John Wilhelm of Cumberland and Donald Wilhelm of Lawrence, Miss. Also survived by a brother, George Bittinger of Youngstown, Ohio, and two sisters: Gladys Morris, Akron, Ohio, and Ethel Bugello, Uniontown; 23 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived a very good friend, Mary Downey Reinhard of Cumberland. Friends were received Monday evening and will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, where funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Sherrill Dillon officiating. Pallbearers are Gary Knight, Howard Buser, William Ryan, Michael Carney, Richard Nair and Rodney McCarty. Interment, Sunset Memorial Park.
