She was born in Upper Turkeyfoot Township, March 16, 1862, and was a daughter of the late Eli and Mary Rose Younkin. She spent her life in the community in which she was born. On September 27th, 1885, she was united in marriage with Wallace Hechler, who survives her. She is also survived by the following named children: Beecher, Younkin, Charles and Ross Hechler, of Kingwood; Sadie, wife of Russel Sterner, Rockwood; Mary, wife of James Kreger, Kingwood; Corda, wife of Grover Kislor, of Fort Hill; Maud, wife of Ed Snyder, of Johnstown, Pa. Nedrow of Maitland, Mo., and Mrs. Hattie Turney, of near Ursina, and by 20 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. Mrs. Hechler was a member of the Church of God, at Kingwood, for 40 years, and always a faithful attendant at Sabbath School until her long illness set in, which lasted fifteen months. Amid all her suffering she was faithful to God, and was waiting His coming for her, realizing that all had been done for her that medical skill could do. She told her loved ones that she wanted to go home to God. Mrs. Hechler was a model wife, a kind and loving mother, a friend and neighbor to all who came in contact with her, always willing to help anyone in need or afflicted. Her body was laid to rest on June 21st, in Kingwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery. The funeral took place at 2 o'clock p.m., in the Kingwood Church of God, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Tamplinger. Mills and Mickey were the funeral directors in charge of the burial arrangements. Meyersdale Republican, June 30, 1932
