Born July 31, 1915 in New Lexington, Somerset County, she was the daughter of the late Harry J. and Lucretia Susannah (Sechler) Hechler. Also preceded in death by a brother-in-law Harry Kaufman who passed away April 11, 1999 in New Jersey. She is survived by a sister, Yvonne W. Kaufman of Lakewood, N.J. and two nieces, Lucretia Joan Mclofchik of Monmouth Beach, N.J. and Donna Lynne Kaufman of Red Bank, N.J. Hazel spent her early years living with her family in Rockwood and Somerset. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Somerset and was a resident of Arbutus Park Manor for 17 years. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in the First United Methodist Church of Somerset. Rev. Patricia Nelson officiating. Interment in the Jenner Cross Roads Cemetery.
