The son of Robert and Anna (Harriger) Heeter, he was born in Elk County in 1924. He is preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his children: Sharon Lawrence of Marianna, Fla., Kenneth Heeter of Fayetteville, N.C., Rosalinda Piatkiewicz, Gloria Herbert and Dottie Tackitt all of Indianapolis, Ind., Jeff Heeter of Manchester, N.H., Patti Heeter of Kane; sisters, Alma Mague, Lois Burkett, Mabel Plummer and Opal Burnetti; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66 since 1954. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion, Donegal Veteran's Association, Last Man's Club and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge. A memorial service will be held in Pennsylvania at a later date.
