  HEFFLEY
  
    Donald L. Heffley, 86, of Fayetteville, Pa., formerly of Meyersdale, died
  April 15, 1997, in Piney Mount Nursing Home, Fayetteville.  Born Jan. 11,
  1911, in Meyersdale.  A son of the late Frank P. and Loretta (Robb)
  Heffley.  Preceded in death by his wife, Helen Austin, in 1987.  Survived
  by two sons, Peter of Fayetteville and Ray, and three grandchildren.  Also
  a sister, Jennie Polvinale, Meyersdale.  A retired lieutenant colonel in
  the U.S. Air Force with 33 years' service.  Veteran of two wars, World War
  II and Korea, and rose from the rank of private to lieutenant colonel. 
  Director of the Inner (sic) American Air Force Academy.  Friends will be received
  at Leckemby Funeral Home on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Military
  service will be held in the Union Cemetery following the viewing.
