Mr. Heil came to the United States in March, 1872, and settled in Western Pennsylvania and located in Somerset County in 1883 where he remained until his death. On June 17, 1878, he was united in marriage with Miss Lena Bordenlow. To this happy union were born six children, one of whom died in infancy. He is survived by his wife and these children: Mrs. J. K. Firestone and Harry W. Heil, of Washington, D.C.; Norman Heil and William Heil Jr., of Paterson, N.J., and Frank Heil of Pittsburgh; also by nine grandchildren. Early in life he became interested in the lumber business and gained considerable prominence in that field of endeavor. He was intensely interested in all civic affairs and especially in education, having given all of his children a fair amount of schooling. His passing leaves a vacancy that will be noticed in his family, church and community. Meyersdale Republican, May 5, 1932
