Heining, 87, Rockwood, passed on July 6, 2007, at Somerset Hospital. Born Dec. 18, 1919, in Black Township, he is the son of the late Charles and Manette (Johnson) Heining. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Laura Ellen (Purbaugh) in 1978; grandson, David Davis; and sisters, Mabel Conn, Althea Conn and Elaine Waubaugh. He is survived by his children, Dorothy Davis and husband, Melvin, Somerset; Richard Heining and wife, Shirley, Steger, Ill.; Howard Heining and wife, Connie, Saulk Village, Ill.; Sally Marker and husband, Gordon; Mary Vought and husband, Freeman; and Roger Heining and fiancˇe, Amy Bowser, all of Somerset; loving girl-friend, Ruth McNelly, Rockwood; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters, Carrie Haer and Sylvia George; and stepbrother, Charles Heining. He was a hard working man who mined coal, farmed, lumbered and worked for Bogner and Co. during his life. He loved to spend time with his dog, Muffie. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Rockwood, where a service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Don Judy officiating. Interment at Rockwood IOOF Cemetery.
