  HEIPLE
  
    Merle William Heiple, 66, Somerset, died May 8, 1993, at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born June 30, 1926, in Lincoln Township, Somerset County,
  son of the late John Calvin and Carrie Gladys (Ogline) Heiple.  Also
  preceded in death by sister, Thelma Hartzell.  Survived by wife, the
  former Rose Marie Berkebile, and these children: Jeffrey L. Heiple,
  married to the former Melanie Brant, Somerset; Douglas A. Heiple,
  married to the former Barbara Palmer, Somerset RD 1, and Jane
  Schimpf, Indian Lake.  Also 4 grandchildren- Christopher, Joshua,
  Amanda and Allison Heiple.  Brother of Mrs. Marvin (Sarah) Gossett,
  Somerset RD 2; Mrs. Arthur (Betty) Mengel, Sanford, N.C.; J. Floyd
  Heiple, Berlin; Mrs. August (Louise) McKee, Bristol, Tenn.; Jay E.
  Heiple, Somerset and Mrs. Barbara Cox, Venetia, Pa.  Had been
  employed by the former Heiple Supply Company.  Former supervisor for
  the Johnstown branch of Patwil Homes Inc.  Currently employed by
  Bittner Vending Co.  Veteran of US Army, World War II, and received
  the Bronze Star.  A 1944 graduate of Somerset High School.  Member of
  First Christian Church.  Life member of Somerset Volunteer Fire
  Department.  Member of American Legion Post 181, VFW Post 554, B.P.O.
  Elks Lodge 1951 of Meyersdale, the American Legion Golf League and the
  DeVilbiss Golf League.  Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday
  (today) and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral
  Home, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev.
  William Sleasman officiating.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial
  Park.  Family suggests contributions to the Somerset "In-Touch"
  Hospice, 651 S. Center Ave., Somerset, Pa., or to the Somerset
  Chapter American Cancer Society, South Lynn Avenue, Somerset, PA
