Heist, 74, of Donegal, formerly of Friedens RD 1, died Aug. 17, 1972, in the Frick Memorial Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born on March 24, 1898, in Olean, N.Y., a daughter of the late John and Anna (Herold) Hoffman. Preceded in death by her husband, Ruben R. Heist, in 1958, and two brothers. Survived by the following children: Mildred, wife of Rev. Paul S. DeHaven of Donegal; Charles of Friedens RD 2; Sam of Leetsdale; John, Walter and Clark, all of Somerset; Helen, wife of Elmer Smoker of Christianna, Pa.; and Richard of Alexandria, Va.; 25 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. The following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Genevieve Hooley of Hazelhurst, Pa.; Mrs. Mary Skok, Mrs. Theresa Stoker, and Mrs. Helen Murphy, all of Port Allegheny; Sister Philomena of Erie; John Hoffman of Eldred; and Edward Hoffman of Port Allegheny. Member of Listie Brethren Church. Friends will be received at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Friday (today) where funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev.
