  ROBERT CHARLES HEIST
  
  Robert Charles Heist, 63, Sewickley, formerly of Somerset, died July 1,
  2004, at Pasavant Hospital, North Hills.  Born June 14, 1941, in Somerset
  Township, the son of Charles Robert and Mae Pauline (Zeigler) Heist.
  Preceded in death by parents.  Survived by wife, the former Sylvia Pearl
  Vance to whom he was married 41 years; children, Mrs. Richard (Diana)
  Higgins of Bowie, Texas, and Andrew Heist and wife Cathy, Baden; two
  grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kristin Higgins.  Brother of James R. Heist,
  Dorr, Mich., Mrs. Donald (Joyce) Hansrote, Ellerslie, Md., Larry Heist,
  Friedens, Miss Barbara Heist, Friedens; also survived by his faithful
  companion his dog Sandy.  A member of Listie Brethren Church and also
  attended Sewickley Baptist Church, and the National Rifle Association. A
  1959 graduate of Somerset High School.  Was a machinist for the former Armco
  Steel, Pittsburgh.  Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at
  the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, 494 West Main St., Somerset, where a
  service will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday.  The Rev. Douglas Lauffer
  officiating.  Interment Somerset County Memorial Park.
