Born June 18, 1908, in Lincoln Township. Daughter of the late William Elmer and Nora Ida (Shaulis) Kimmel. Also preceded in death by husband, James Samuel Heist, who died Feb. 2, 1995; brothers, James M., Harry E. and Clyde H. Kimmel, and sisters Olive Williams, Minnie Pritts and Anna Baldwin. Survived by these children: Mrs. Harold W. (Germaine) Ankeny of Somerset, William L. Heist, married to the former Mary Maurer of Nampa, Idaho, and James G. Heist, Portland, Ore.; also 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and number of nieces and nephews. Member of Christ Casebeer Evangelical Lutheran Church and its WELCA. 1928 graduate of Somerset High School. Also member of the former Wimodausis Rebekah Lodge, auxiliary to Three Rivers Chapter of Submarine Veterans of World War II. Secretary for Somerset State Hospital, retiring in 1975. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Christ Casebeer Evangelical Lutheran Church, Somerset, with the Rev. Edward N. Corneilson officiating. Viewing at church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment, Casebeer Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Christ Casebeer Memorial Reserve Fund, 10377 Somerset Pike, Somerset, Pa. 15501.
