SADIE J. HEMMING

  Mrs. Sadie J. Hemming, wife of Connel S. Hemming of Coal Run, died in the 
Mercy Hospital in Johnstown at 2 a.m., September 30.  Mrs. Hemming had been ill 
for a very short time prior to her passing.
  Mrs. Hemming was born at Keyser, W.Va., on November 26, 1881, daughter of Mary 
(Smith) and John W. Dayton.  She was 66 years, 10 months and four days old.  In 
addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons - Lawrence of Boynton; 
Paul of Flint, Mich., and Eugene and James of Johnstown; by two daughters - Mrs. 
Nellie Garlitz of Route 1, Salisbury, and Mrs. Inez Gray of Conemaugh; and by 16 
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
  Funeral services were conducted from the Thomas Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. on 
Sunday, October 3, with the Rev. George K. Ely of St. Paul Reformed Church 
officiating.  Interment was made in the St. Paul cemetery in charge of Mortician 
Stanley M. Thomas.
