Hemminger, 76, Lincoln Highway, Central City, died March 25, 2000 at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 11, 1923 in Lincoln Township, son of Ned and Katharine (Thomas) Hemminger. Preceded in death by parents, wives, the former Pauline Barnick and the former Martha Koontz, and a brother Vernon. Survived by half-brother Marlin Shaffer of Jennerstown, stepchildren, Richard Smith of Atlanta, Ga., Pete Smith of Cumberland, Md. and Maude Kulon of Margate, Fla. Also several nieces and nephews and care-giver of six years, Jeanetta Bathurst. He was a World War II Army veteran. Retired from PBS Coals. Member of Somerset Christian Fellowship. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. William Dodson officiating.
