Born Aug. 14, 1942, in Somerset Township. Son of Ralph Noah and Violet Vade (Lenhart) Hemminger of Sugar Maple Road, Somerset. Survived by wife, the former Virginia Kay Custer, to whom he was married 35 years; children: James R. Hemminger II, married to the former Melody Chrissey of Coxes Creek Road, Somerset; Joseph R. Hemminger, married to the former Amy Baer, of Sugar Maple Road, Somerset; Mrs. Ty (Crystal) Sellers of Pittsburgh, and John E. Hemminger, married to the former Janie Baer, of Coxes Creek Road, Somerset also six grandchildren: Sarah, James Ray, "J.R." Hemminger III, Kayla and Jared Hemminger and Henry James and Caleb Sellers. Brother of Jack L. Hemminger and Jay W. Hemminger, both of Somerset. Also survived by foster mother-in-law, Grace I. Lambert of Plank Road, Somerset. 1960 graduate of Somerset High School where he was in the FFA program. He was a Somerset Township dairy farmer and owner of Hemminger's Maple Sugar Camp. Member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher and served on council and joint council. He was treasurer of Maple Producers of Somerset County, member of Pa. Holstein Association, Somerset Wrestling Boosters, and 4-H Forestry Club. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Somerset, with the Rev. Edward W. Ebersole, and Rev. Barry K. Ritenour officiating. Interment, Lavansville Cemetery.
