Hemminger, 73, of Hollsopple RD 2 died March 6, 1995, at Conemaugh hospital, Johnstown. Born Sept. 27, 1921, in Conemaugh Township. Son of Ned and Katherine M. (Thomas) Hemminger. Preceded in death by parents; stepfather Michael Shaffer; and wife, the former Esther June Lehman on Oct. 9, 1988. Survived by children: Allen, married to Lou Ann (Lambert) Ketner, Hollsopple RD 2, and Jenny, wife of Scot L. Cruickshank, Johnstown. Grandchildren: Lisa Holben, Scott and Heather Hemminger, and Caitlin and Sean Ian "Little Joe" Cruickshank, and great-granddaughter, Brianna Holben. Brother of Ernest Hemminger, Central City RD, and Marlin Shaffer, married to Roseann Dull, Jennerstown. Member of the Benscreek Evangelical Lutheran Church near Thomas Mills, where he was custodian for many years. Also member of the Machinist Union and the New Centerville Farmer's and Threshermen's Association. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a retired auto body repairman. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell. Viewing also from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Benscreek church, the Rev. Raymond A. Sistek officiating. Interment, Thomas Mennonite Cemetery.
