    HENDERSHOT
  
    Leona M. Hendershot, 87, of Somerset, formerly of Berlin, died Dec. 9,
  1996, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.  Born March 20, 1909, in
  Fairhope, daughter of Benjamin and Helen (Emerick) Maust.  Preceded in
  death by parents; husband, Ross; sister, Blanche Holtz, and daughter,
  Regina Rowsey.  Survived by these children:  Paul, married to the former
  Jean Benford, Rockwood; John, Berlin; James, married to the former Eunice
  Dobbins, Florida; Mrs. Duane (Mary Jane) Pirtle, New Mexico; Shirley Earl,
  New Hampshire; Thomas, Somerset, and Mrs. Frank (Joyce) Lee of Garrett; 13
  grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  She was the sister of Harry
  and Floyd Maust, both of Somerset; Woodrow Maust of Virginia; Reon Maust of
  Florida; Madolin King of Bedford; Betty Foust of Somerset; Viola Farabaugh,
  Virginia; Geraldine Thomas of Johnstown, and Lois Owen of Florida.  She was
  retired from Maple Mountain Manor.  Family will receive friends from 2 to 4
  and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin.  Graveside
  service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Berlin IOOF Cemetery, with John
  Rowsey, her son-in-law, and Rev. Robert Hoffman officiating.  Memorial
  contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, South Lynn
  Avenue, Somerset, Pa.  15501
