Henderson, 82, of Oakhurst, Calif., formerly of Coraopolis died Dec. 16, 2001. Beloved husband of Barbara (Schall) Ballard Henderson for 17 years. Husband of the late Lois M. (Thompson) Henderson. Father of David R. Henderson and his wife Mary Ann, Mary Sue Nichols and her husband James. Step-father of Steve Ballard and his wife Leah, Randel Ballard and his wife Ann and David Ballard. Grandfather of Lisa Marie and Robert Michael Nichols. Step-grandfather of Michele, Sarah, Jonathan, Justin, Brian, Melissa, and Scott Ballard. Great-grandfather of Kelsey and Kira Ballard and Ashley Brown. Mr. Henderson received his bachelor's degree in chemistry from Grove City College in 1941. He worked for Monsanto Nitro Co. in West Virginia for four years. He then went to Neville Chemical Corp. and worked for them from Dec. 26, 1945 until March 1, 1983 as their manager of process and development which is part of their research and development division. His name was on four patents from 1967 - 1977, two were fro Neville Products and two were for plant design processes. Mr. Henderson was a member of Serria Vista Presbyterian Church in Oakhurst, Calif. He belonged to their choir and hand bell choir. He also belonged to The Mountain Arts Chorale and The Serria Singer Group. Former member of the Coraopolis United Methodist Church where he was a member of their choir and director of the hand bell choir. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Coraopolis and Kiwanis Club of Oakhurst. Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, in the Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church, Oakhurst, Calif. A second memorial service will be held Monday, Jan. 14, at the Coraopolis United Methodist Church, 1205 Ridge Ave., Coraopolis, Pa. 15108.
