Born in Milligan's Cove, Sept. 23, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Otto T. Burkett and Sarah M. (Clites) Burkett. She was a member of the Hyndman First United Church of Christ, where she was active in the Ladies Aid and the Adult Choir, and served as secretary of the Adult Class. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Oscar Jordan Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving are her husband, Clarence W. Hengst; two sons, Clarence W. Hengst Jr., Hyndman RD 1; one brother, Delford S. Burkett, Hyndman RD 1; five sisters, Mrs. Emma Donahue, Corriganville, Md.; Mrs. Thelma Miller and Mrs. Evelyn Elliott, both of Hyndman RD 1; Mrs. Dorothy Leydig, Somerset; Mrs. Helen Robosson, Hyndman; and four grandchildren. Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home where services were conducted September 19 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. David W. Long. Interment was in the Hyndman Cemetery.
