Henry, former postmaster and merchant of New Centerville, died suddenly Saturday evening, October 16th, at the home of his son, Arthur H. Henry of Fort Hill at the age of 65 years, 1 month and 22 days. The cause of his death was coronary occlusion. Mr. Henry was a highly esteemed resident of New Centerville Borough and served as a mail carrier from Rockwood to Scullton in the early days when the mail was transported by "horse and buggy." He always served as postmaster. Mr Henry later operated a general store and gas station in New Centerville. His wife, Mrs. Lydia (Ansell) Henry died 18 months ago. Surviving are a son and daughter, Mrs. Luther Burgh of New Centerville and Pvt. Arthur H. Henry of Camp Lee, Va. Ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren survive, also one brother and six sisters: Bruce Henry and Mrs. Theodore Kable of Connellsville; Mrs. Elmer Faidley of New Centerville; Mrs. Irvin Mauntain of Mill Run; Mrs. Owen Forney, Somerset; Mrs. Ray O'Cock, Somerset, and Miss Della Henry of Mill Run. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, October 20th, at the Wesley Chapel Church with a former pastor, Rev. Jacob Kooser, officiating. Interment was made in the Scullton Cemetery.
