All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ ELLEN HENTZ Mrs. Ellen (Brant) Hentz, 76, wife of Charles Hentz, well known retired Somerset R.D. 5 farmer, died at her home just east of Somerset, Tuesday morning. Death was attributed to coronary occlusion. Mrs. Hentz was the daughter of the late Josiah and Louise Hersh Brant of Brothersvalley Township. She resided in Somerset borough with her husband for over five years during which time they were proprietors of the Belmont Hotel on the diamond. Retiring from the hotel life, they moved to their farm on R.D. 5 and lived there until 12 years ago, when they moved to the home of their son-in- law and only daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Martin of "Cherry Lane" situated on the home farm. Mrs. Hentz was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset, and was active in church work. Surviving are the above mentioned daughter, Lynnie, wife of Edward Martin, two grandsons, Sgt. Norton Martin of the Army Air Corps, stationed at present in South America, and Van Snyder of Somerset. These brothers and sisters also survive: Lincoln Brant of Berlin; Georg Obedian, James and Irvin Brant of Somerset; Mrs. Clinton Sivits and Mrs. Noah Beachley, Berlin, Mrs. Richard Christner, Garrett, and Mrs. Irvin C. Brant of Akron, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted at the Charles R. Hauger funeral home this Thursday afternoon at 2:30 by the Rev. I. Hess Wagner. Interment in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Berlin.
