  EDITH ELLEN HERRING
  
    Edith Ellen Herring, 77, of 152 Main Street, Grantsville, Md., died June
  18, 1996, at Meyersdale Medical Center.
    Herring was born Feb. 24, 1919, in Grantsville.  She was the daughter of
  the late Lawrence and Elizabeth (Orendorf) Bittinger.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
  Albert Roy "Shad" Herring, on July 27, 1995.
    She is survived by a brother, Blaine Bittinger, Roanoke, Va.; and a
  sister, Alma Weller, Grantsville.
    Herring was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
    Friends were received June 21 at the Newman Funeral Home in
  Grantsville.  Services were conducted June 22 at the funeral home, with the
  Rev. David E. Fetter officiating.  Interment, Grantsville Cemetery.
