Herring, 81, of Unionville, Kennett Square RD 1, died at his home, Saturday, Oct. 27, 1973, after a brief illness. Born in Meyersdale, he was a son of the late Albert and Mary (Siehl) Herring. He was a retired farmer, who had resided in Unionville since 1955, and was one of the founding members of Trinity Assembly of God Church, West Chester. He was known for his revivals at his Unionville farm and the gospel tract passing at the Kennett sale barn. Surviving are his wife, the former Gertrude Orendorf; three sons, Lawrence Lee Herring, Springfield; Walter Raymond and Richard Herring, both of Kennett Square RD 1; 12 grandchildren; three brothers, Ralph, Roy and Lee Herring, all of Meyersdale; and two sisters, Miss Maude Herring and Mrs. Ruth H. Irwin, both of Meyersdale RD 3. Funeral service was held Tuesday, Oct. 30, in Trinity Assembly of God Church, West Chester, with the following ministers participating in the service: Dr. Carl McIntire, Rev. Olin Jones, Rev. Asa Martin and Rev. William Sanders. Interment in Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square. Meyersdale Republican, November 15, 1973 [H0921]
