HERSH Hazel Marie Hersh, 78, of Cumberland, MD, died Thursday, July 15, 1993, at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was born on Oct. 19, 1914 in Fairhope, the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Anna Josephine (Berkley) Lowery. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Lee Hersh, one brother, Floyd J. Lowery and one sister, Mildred C. Stickley. Mrs. Hersh was a retired employee of Wolf's Furniture Store and a former employee of Fayette Hair Design. She was a life long member of Saint Mark's United Church of Christ, a member of the Consistory and a Deacon of the church. She is survived by three daughters, Lois A. Shambaugh, and husband, Ray, Cumberland, MD; Martha L. "Cookie" McComas, and husband, Tom, LaVale, MD; Judy M. Blacker, Cumberland; one brother, Kenneth A. Lowery, Frostburg, MD; six grandchildren: Barry D. Shambaugh, and wife, Jamie; Tammy R. Shambaugh; Kim A. Metzler, and husband, Ray; Erin O. McComas; Judi M. Blacker; G. Mike Blacker, Jr.; and four great-grandchildren: Christopher, Adam, Whitney, Drew and several nieces and nephews. Friends were received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home on Friday.
