  JAMES A. HERSH
  
    James A. Hersh, 60, of 310 Piedmont Ave., Cumberland, died Jan. 23,
  in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
    A former resident of Meyersdale, he at one time resided on Lincoln
  Avenue here.  He was a son of the late Adam and Martha (Sipple) Hersh.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Agnes Byer.  He was a brother of
  Mrs. Edna McGraw, McKeesport; Mrs. Martha Werner and Edgar,
  Cumberland; Carl, Eckert; Howard C., Cresaptown; and William A., of
  Potomac Park.
    He was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Cumberland,
  the Eagles No. 245, and Port Cumberland Post 13, American Legion.  He
  was a veteran of World War II, and was a member of the sales promotion
  division of Columbia Gas of Maryland.
    Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. in the
  George Funeral Home, Cumberland, with Rev. Carl H. Clapp
  officiating.  Interment will be made in Hillcrest Burial Park,
  Cumberland.
