(Bid) (Keim) 09/13/06 Daily American Violet M. "Bid" (Keim) Hersh, 85, West Salisbury, died Sept. 11, 2006, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, Md. Born July 9, 1921, in West Salisbury, she is the daughter of the late George and Edna May (Bodes) Keim. She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Hersh, Dec. 21, 2001; son, Ronald Hersh; brother, George "Manny" Keim Jr.; and two sisters, Fern Tedrow and Sarah Smith. Surviving are her daughter, Virginia R. Rissmiller and husband, Ted, West Salisbury; brother, Bernard Keim, Berlin; five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Mrs. Hersh was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Salisbury, and had served as custodian. She was a retired seamstress for Salisbury Sportswear and was a member of Salisbury Firemen's Auxiliary. At her request, her body has been cremated. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Sept. 23 at Salisbury Cemetery. The Rev. Ted Rissmiller officiating.
