    WALTER E. HERSH
  
    Walter E. Hersh, 75, of Elk Lick Township, died July 6, 1972, at home. 
  He was born  Feb. 4, 1897, in Elk Lick Township, the son of Henry and Julia
  (Mervine) Hersh.
    Surviving are his wife, Catherine; sons, William of Meyersdale, and
  Charles of Arlington, Va., four daughters, Mrs. Elaine Hutzel and Mrs.
  Margaret Swartzwelder, both of Salisbury; Mrs. Donna Jean McClintock of
  Kent, Ohio; and Mrs. Alice Christner, Akron, Ohio; also 27 grandchildren,
  16 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Mary Bittner of Boynton.
    He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Somerset Disabled
  American Veterans.
    Funeral Service was conducted Saturday afternoon in Thomas Funeral Home,
  Salisbury, with Rev. Paul H. Yoder officiating.  Interment, in St. Paul
  Cemetery.
