    DONALD R. HERSHBERGER
  
    Donald R. Hershberger, 51, of Bittinger, Md., died Sunday, July 6, 1986,
  at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
    Born in Grantsville, Md. On April 22, 1935, he was a son of Mrs. Ruth
  (Maxwell) Hershberger and the late Daniel W. Hershberger.
    He was president of Hershberger Agency, Inc., and was a licensed real
  estate agent with ERA Goodfellow Agency, Inc.  He served as that company's
  Garrett County branch manager.
    A graduate of Northern High School he was employed 15 years as a
  mechanical draftsman for Hercules Powder Co., at their Allegany Ballistics
  Laboratory, Cumberland, Md.  He and his wife owned and operated Brenneman's
  Grove Sugar Camp in Bittinger, Md.  He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran
  Church of Bittinger, a charter member of the Grantsville Lions Club in
  which he served as president, secretary and zone chairman.  He also was a
  member of the National Rifleman's Association and the Casselman Valley
  Sportsmen's Club.  He also was a donor to the Maryland Eye Bank.
    Besides his mother, he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margaret
  (Brenneman) Hershberger; two daughters: Mrs. Ellen Housley, Bittinger, Md.;
  and Mrs. Ann McLister, Albany, Ga.; a brother, Daniel D. Hersberger, Vienna,
  Va.; and two grandchildren.
    Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home.
    Services were conducted Wednesday, 1 p.m., at the Emmanuel Lutheran
  Church of Bittinger, Md., by the Rev. Louise Knotts.  Interment, Bittinger
  Cemetery.
    Pallbearers were Robert Buckel, Donald Frazee, Paul McKenzie, Robert
  Watkins, Harry Bauer and Nile Lechliter.
    Honorary pallbearers were mark Fruehan, William Miller, Harry Bowers,
  William Sisler and Robert Diehl.
