Hershberger April 17, 1914-September 3, 2003 Ervin N. Hershberger, 89, of Meyersdale, died September 3, 2003. Born April 17, 1914, near Grantsville, Md., he was the son of the late Noah E. and Savilla (Yoder) Hershberger. On May 12, 1940, he was married to Barbara Beachy, who preceded him in death on June 12, 2000. He was preceded in death by a stillborn daughter; two brothers, Simon and Elmer; three sisters, Sadie, Vernie and Lydia. He is survived by his daughter, Mildred, wife of Marvin E. Yoder, Meyersdale, and their three children, Joye, Kenton and Lynnette; his sister Fannie Beachy and sister-in-law, Fannie Hershberger, both of Grantsville, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ervin was a member of Mountain View Mennonite Church since his youth, and a senior deacon of the ministerial team at the church. For 26 years, Ervin served as a teacher at Calvary Bible School, Calico Rock, Arkansas, from which he retired in 1995. For a time he also served as principal of the school. Ervin did not particularly desire to be remembered for his years of service but for the Lord Jesus Christ whom he served. Friends and relatives were received September 6 and 7, at the Newman Funeral Homes, 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Md. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, September 8, at 2p.m. at Mountain View Mennonite Church, Salisbury. Friends were received at the church one hour prior to the services.
