He was born April 28, 1895, Conemaugh Township, Somerset County, a son of Noah and Sevilla (Kinsinger) Hershberger. He was was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two brothers, one daughter, one son, his first wife, Elsie Yoder; and second wife, Margaret (Holsinger) Irons, who died August 12, 1969. He is survived by a daughter, Mary (Edward) Strong, Jerome; three stepsons: Robert L. (Helen Blough), Johnstown; Joseph H. (Marian Custer), Canfield, Oh. Donald R. (Jean Dishong), Titusville; four grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, and two-step great-grandchildren. He was a brother of Milton, Hollsopple RD 2, and Della Kaufman, Grantsville, Md. He was a member of St. David's Lutheran Church and was retired from Swanks Hardware, Sears & Roebuck. He served in the capacity of cashier for Merle Mishler, auctioneer. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the George E. Mason Funeral Home, Davidsville, with Rev. Luther A. Gotwald and Rev. Harry Y. Shetler officiating. Interment, Kaufman Cemetery.
