  CHESTER HERWIG
   
    Chester "Chick" Herwig, 83, of Camp Hill, Pa., died Monday, March 9, at
  Manor Care Facility in Camp Hill. 
    Born June 7, 1914, in Meyersdale, he was a son of the late Henry James
  and Velda D. (Eversole) Herwig.
    He was a retired engineer for the state Department of Environmental
  Resources; a U.S. Army veteran of World War II; a member of the American
  Legion Post 112, Meyersdale; the West Shore Elks Club; and was a banjoist
  with the Mickey J. Band and the Polka Knights.
    Mr. Herwig is survived by his wife, the former Kathleen Ralston; one son,
  Edward, of Linglestown, Pa.; a daughter, Eileen Westenheffer, Hanover, Pa.;
  a sister, M. Kathleen Dahl, Daytona Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, two
  step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at the Neill Funeral Home, Camp Hill.
  Interment with military honors was held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association of
  Southcentral Pennsylvania, 1013 Mumma Road, Lemoyne, PA 17043; or Hospice
