   Joyce E. Herwig, 72, Friedens, died Nov. 6, 2007, at Somerset Hospital. Born Sept. 18,
  1935, in Somerset, a daughter of Robert and Marie (Johnson) Koontz. Preceded in death by
  parents; brothers, Ronald "Wick" and Johnny Koontz. Survived by her husband of 53 years,
  Lloyd E.; children, Joey, married to the former Amy Christina, York; Kathy, married to
  Ronald Yoder, Friedens; and grand- daughter, Carissa Herwig. She was a former cafeteria
  worker at Friedens Elementary School and a member of Friedens Lutheran Church. Family
  will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Friedens Lutheran Church.
  Viewing from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at the church. The Rev.
  Edward V. Devore officiating. Interment Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown. Memorial
  contributions may be given to Friedens Lutheran Church Community Ministry Fund, 131 S.
  Main St., Friedens, PA 15541. Arrangements by Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown.
